Manus Island #EvacuateNow Protest – 08 November 2017
“What do we want? We want freedom.”
Wednesday 8th November marked 100 days of peaceful protest from the men on Manus Island and 8 days since the detention centre officially closed and all power, water, food and health services ceased completely.
On Wednesday we stood in solidarity with the men held on Manus Island. We want them to know that we are watching what is unfolding and we will not be silent! We will continue to share your messages of this humanitarian crisis that the Australian Government is responsible for!
Thank you to the local speakers – Ahmad Dostizada (Lawyer assisting asylum seekers in Darwin), DASSAN Activists Pete, Michelle & Sarah and the reprsentative from Larrakia Nation.
Thanks to ABC for attending and great to see the coverage on your facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/ABCDarwin/videos/10156014680199873/
